learning hebrew
Learning Hebrew-Q’s inside?

I am an Afghan, so I speak Farsi.

I plan on learning a plethora of languages, including Arabic and Hebrew.

I plan on learning them from Rosetta Stone. I know that if you know Arabic, Hebrew is easy to learn, which is why I want to learn it, because I figured if I learn Arabic, I should put in some more time to learn Hebrew.

Like I mentioned, I know Farsi as well, incase that helps.

So how long will it take for me to learn it if I spend 2-3 hrs/wk?

Salam

depends on how fast you are at learning languages. it will take at least one month but realistically more, for you to really be able to speak it.

i read, write and can speak hebrew but i know someone who was learning from the rosetta stone. he said that it didnt really give him a feel for the language because the photos used for the words are standard pictures. however, rosetta stone does teach the language.

hebrew is very much like arabic, but not really modern hebrew, more the biblical one – many words are similar although the prefixes and suffixes are very different. i know nothing about farsi, so cant help you there.

good luck!

learn ancient hebrew
Im looking for a Bible dictionary and or Concordance that give not only the def of a word but also the greek?

and hewbrew.

Does this exsist?

if not is there anything close to this without me having to go out and learn ancient greek and hebrew

Strong’s does this but it is for a KJV–if you don’t use the KJV then that book would be a waste of your money.

Have you thought about investing in the Hebrew-Greek Bible, it has the bible, concordance, and topical word studies, and interesting historical notes.

learn to read hebrew
What is the QUICKEST way to thoroughly learn 17 lines of hebrew for my barmitvah? Need help right away!?

Ok so my tutor is a total jackass, and she gace me one week to learn 17n lines of hebrew (my haftarah) im going to get in a ton of trouble if i dont learn it, i just have to be able to read it fluently. I can read hebrew but i suck at it it took me like 10 minutes to read through it because its new.
Is there a better way to learn it quick then just reading it over and over again?
PLEASE HELP!!!!
Thanks!!!

You don’t have to do all 17 lines at once!
A nice way to do something like this is to
start at the end and learn the last 4 lines
thoroughly. Repeat them till you can do them well.
Then do the previous 4 lines and add them to the
last 4. Now you have 8 lines learned.
Keep going till you reach the top.
Hope this helps you. I’ve found it’s a
good way to learn a long passage.
