Waiting for God – a lesson on prayer for the Eagle
I am intrigued by the creation of God. God is the greatest artist and scientist in history. Psalm 14:1 says: "The fool says in his heart, There is no God." It takes a fool to say that there is no God, if can see and hear the world around. All the way from the macrocosm to the microcosm of the sample of ingenious creativity.
An animal that fascinates my imagination is the eagle. The Bible says in Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; you up with wings as eagles they shall run and not grow weary, walk and not faint. "There must be a reason for an eagle in this analogy is used instead of another creature.
Because of its nature, an Eagle is known as the king of birds. It is not very good on the ground, but it has been made to dominate the sky. Isaiah 40:31 covers the Eagles and waiting.
Our age and society is one where people do not want to wait for anything or anyone. Finally, while the comfort of modern economies that we have, we seem to have less and no more free time.
Automatic washers and dryers, ovens, microwaves, TV dinners, cell phones and many other technological advances is supposed to make our lives less hectic. With them and other equipment, it seems we have less time and more pressure than ever.
Children can not wait to be teenagers. Then, they can not wait to be old enough to get your license. So I can not wait to leave school. Then, they can not wait to be 21. Then there I expect to find a job. So I can not wait to marry. So I can not wait to have kids. Then, they can not wait until the children are gone. Then you can wait until they get a divorce. Finally, you can not wait until retirement. Then they spend all their time wishing they were young.
We never seem to be satisfied with our current age and condition things. The apostle Paul teaches us by his example in Philippians 4:11 to be content in whatever state we find ourselves.
One of our biggest problems is that in our society, we want everything now. The greatest successes and victories in history took time to achieve.
Jacob loved Rachel, but she had to work seven years to marry. Then after seven years, she discovered she had married his sister Leah. His father-in-law, Laban, he said it was customary in their land from older to marry first, but by seven years work that could have Rachel too. Because of his great love for Rachel, Jacob agreed. Jacob was willing to wait.
Brother Esau, Jacob was impatient and sold his birthright against a casserole dish. That is why we sometimes learn quickly and get our flesh in subjection. Esau out of their carnal desires him to lose their spiritual heritage. The same thing can happen when the value above seeking pleasures the spiritual world. If Esau had been patient and waited, could have maintained their birth right.
Joseph had a dream. The interpretation of its dream was to reign over his brothers. We must be careful to share our dreams with others. Not everyone can appreciate his vision. His brothers hated Joseph for his dreams and was encouraged by him.
Sometimes when God bless you, people you hate. When God has blessed with an increase or a new car, your so-called friends will not always be happy for you. His blessings may cause the spirits of jealousy and envy to rise and turn to hatred.
Joseph's brothers threw him into a pit, threatened to kill him, and eventually sold into slavery. Because Joseph waited about God, wherever he finds God raised him and blessed him. When Potiphar's wife lied about Joseph, and he was sent to prison, he left to trust God. When Pharaoh Butler forgotten him, never stopped trusting God. And finally, all his dreams have become reality because Joseph knew how to wait on the Lord.
Moses had to learn as a young man who was destined to be the liberator of his people. Raised in the house of Pharaoh's daughter as a prince, Moses was trained to be a warrior and a statesman. But his real mother, Jochebed will not let him forget he was a descendant of Abraham.
When was forty years old, saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite, and killed the Egyptian. Born in the house king as an adopted son of his daughter, when the Pharaoh found Moses would be killed.
Moses flees in the desert, where he married a daughter of a priest of Midian. One day while watching his father in law sheep, he was given command of God to return to Egypt and the emancipation of the Israelites. This forty years later, when Moses was eighty years.
Many people may feel they are too old or too young to do something significant for God. They may feel that their time is spent effectively. But God is so concerned about his age as he is on their availability and willingness to obey and follow him. Moses waited on the Lord.
Years later, after the promised land had been occupied, the Israelites wanted a king like other nations. Saul was the man who has been elected. He started performing well, but eventually became a tyrant. Saul became impatient and refused to wait the prophet Samuel to offer the sacrifice ceremony. Saul offered the sacrifice, and God rejected it.
So God sent Samuel Jesse House to elect the king to replace Saul. David was elected. Samuel, at God's direction, David anointed king of Israel. Although David was anointed King, who was for fifteen years before sitting on the throne of the kingdom. "Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength."
Editing Isaiah speaks with wings as eagles. Different animals have different characteristics and nature. Dogs bark, cats meow, snakes glide, the moo cows and frogs.
The eagles and chickens are birds. Both have wings, feathers, bird beaks and feet of birds. But, by nature are very different. Isaiah compares the people of God to an eagle. Eagles are majestic birds known for their perfectly clear vision, courage, strength and the height and flight speed.
Chickens are described as good for dinner. They are the very symbol of fear. When someone is afraid of is called "chicken." Chickens do not fly very high and are known for making lots of noise.
Animals seem to know instinctively when a storm is approaching. It becomes very calm before the storm and most animals, including chickens, to begin looking for a hiding from the storm.
The eagle is not affected by the storm. He sits in his office and when you reach the storm instead of fleeing from the storm, flying. Despite being launched and beat, shake, is kept flying in the storm and strong winds lift him above the clouds, and it rises above the storm, then that other animals are still in the storm. "Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength."
I heard that Pending preached on the book to stay up waiting for God to do something for you in your own time. Then I heard him preach that Waiting for the purpose of serving God as a bartender served in a restaurant.
But when I searched the Hebrew word used in this plan Scripture is the Word quavah. This word means "with". It is used as the word that describes how to bind the sheaves in the field during harvest. When you place the definition in the text, which reads: "Those who are united with the Lord shall renew their strength, mount up with wings as eagles."
This passage speaks more than save time and serve. It refers to the relationship. We speak of intimacy with God. We talk about prayer. As the nature of the eagle is characterized by its strength, vision, courage and ability to fly, great sacred power, vision, courage and ability to fly high spiritual are the direct result of latency, or the Union, the Lord.
God is looking for eagles saints who are not afraid of spiritual heights. He seeks people who will fly into the storms of life, if I can use the wind of the Holy Spirit to lift them above the storm. Some of us have lived under our privilege too long.
There is a story of a man found an eagle's egg, he brought his chicken and put in one of his chickens to hatch. When he was born like other young chicks. Their grayish-brown feathers were not pretty and yellow. When chicks have made their peeps "quick glance", he uttered a strange "gawk". He was clumsy and did not suit all the chick peck him. Just not right.
Since it has become, it seems more difficult. One day he looked up and saw a mighty eagle flying high in heaven and there is something about this bird. He began to shake their wings and flew over the pole. He rose to the top the chicken coop. Then one day deploy wings and flew, never to return to roost.
It is time that many of us leave the roost. Some of us we were in the yard long. God wants to take over us. You know you made of material of an eagle, but you should feel comfortable with the chickens. Today, it is your day of climbing.
If you are a baby, it's time to grow. If you are a soldier, it is time to rise. If you are a non-Tither is time to pay. If you are a preacher, it's time to start. If you are a noise, it is time to make peace. If you have a testimony, he Time to talk. If you are a talker, it's time to keep silence, and if you're a saint, eagle, it's time to climb.
Make it your priority to unite with God through prayer, consecrated life. This is equivalent to developing a two-way relationship with him and later with the cult of dynamic lifestyle.
